DECISIONS OF 12TH BOG MEETING OF NTC

12th BOG Meeting of National Technology Council (NTC) was held on 19th February 2025 at HEC H9 Islamabad. The Meeting was presided by Lt. Gen. Moazzam Ejaz, HI (M) (Retd.), Chairman NTC. The Meeting started with the recitation from the Holy Quran. After a round of introductions, Lt. Gen. Moazzam Ejaz, HI (M) (Retd.), Chairman NTC, welcomed the Council Members. He then invited Dr. Zia-ul-Qayyum Executive Director HEC, for his views. Dr. Zia-ul-Qayyum highlighted the role of Councils to ensure Quality of Education in Pakistan. He explained that engineering and technology go side by side and work in tandem, He appreciated the advice and guidance of the Members and assured HEC's support to NTC. He also appreciated NTC's efforts towards attaining the membership of Sydney Accord. Chairman NTC Lt. Gen. Moazzam Ejaz, HI (M) (Retd.) then gave an update presentation to the new members about various facets of NTC. Afterwards discussion took place on Agenda Items and decisions were taken as follows:-

  • Progress on Accreditation of Programs, Registration of Technologists and NCRC Meetings.
  • Approval for inclusion of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Engineering Technology in the scope of NTC.
  • Title of Registered Engineering Technologists.
  • Regularization of Discontinued Engineering Technology Programs.
  • Approval Accreditation duration for academics programs.
  • NCRCs Engineering Technology Programs.
  • Eligibility of F.Sc (Medical/Technology) for admission to the Biomedical Engineering Technology program.
  • Eligibility of F.Sc (Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science) for admission to Engineering Technology Programs.
  • Admission of DAE students based on F.Sc Pre-Engineering Equivalency.
  • Incorporation of the latest version of graduate attributes & professional competencies (GAPC) in NTC Accreditation Framework.
  • Scholarships for Technology Graduates.
